Show your creative, cultured side by taking a group to the
Chalk the Block Riverwood Chalk festival. This event takes place in the Riverwood parking lot, and goes for a period of 3 days: September 11th- 13th. I went last year at the beginning of the festival. While it was fun to walk around and see different ideas, most of the art wasn't complete. I would recommend attending the festival on the 13th or evening of the 12th so you can view more of the complete art. The chalk art ranges from 3D pictures, to remakes of classic masterpieces.
This is a free event.
You can add to the activity by:
- Buying chalk and having your group make their own chalk masterpieces in a random parking lot.
- Walking around the Riverwoods and getting ice cream or chocolate
- Make a score sheet and rate the pictures you see
- Play a giant board game using chalk to create the board (good games for this idea are: shoots and ladders, sorry, candy land)
